| I was doing some shore fishing (not catching) yesterday and was talking to a fellow fisherman who claimed to take a 52" musky while walleye fishing from Pleasant Lake (North Oak (?) of the cities) 10 years ago. He also mention this lake is illegal to fish and admitted to trespassing. Just curious if anyone has heard any stories, info, fish tales of this small 100 acre lake? If a lake that put out 50+ fish 10 years ago with little to no pressure whatsoever (for any speces), what swims in it now? Also, I heard rumors that the MN tiger musky record was not taken from the registered lake, but a small private lake of the cities - same lake?
Thanks,

| Pleasant Lake was at that time a DNR Muskie brood stock lake. That is why it was illegal to fish in. If you ever see him again turn him in, the idiot more than deserves it. It isn't used anymore and all the Muskies in it were planted in Metro Lakes at the beginning of the Metro Lakes stocking program.

| I can believe that very easily. Pleasant is in a very rich set up called North Oaks. All the roads are private and I think the whole "township" is designated as a game refuge. It is part of a series of lakes that serves as the water supply for city of Saint Paul. 6 1/2 lb smallmouth, could catch a bucket of 1 3/4 lb crappies quickly (sometimes 2 at a time on a river runt.) 10 lb walleyes
ect. use to be a right of passage to sneak in there as a teenager. When fun was fun, the sherriffs just set you packing the first time caught. the 2nd time they took it personel. Whole different story now, know of people that have caught muskies there and live there on the lake and got tickets. BIG BUCKS; houses and whitetails. Feel sorry for the kids now days. Our drive bys were at Roosters, not children. getting shot at meant you buddy sprayed you. How we a progressed. Lighten up with the 10 year old ticket stuff. | |
