I have noticed the last two years that our crew is pushing the walls out on Dooley's. I discovered a relatively new bar about 1/4 mile from Dooleys not long ago that is about 6x as big and has a lot of eye candy! Today I spoke with the manager about moving our location for the 2004 swap. Initially he wanted $160/hr for a dedicated room. After a little convincing he agreed to $0/hr. The room has about 25 4-top tables plus about 8 leather couches and 4 pool tables with several 50+" big screen TV's. They are willing to put up several big banquet tables and move some furniture around too. I tentatively booked the room. What does everybody think of moving the event to the new place called Fox & Hound Pub? There is a catch..... Fox & Hound does NOT have Karaoke!

No karaoke is a definite plus for me, too. When I become King, karaoke will be outlawed!

As long as the eye candy is there, I am for it. I will be there.

i'm down, i'm just curious how many swap meet attenders found out about it other than the internet...i just wouldnt' want a bunch of guys showing up at Dooley only to be disappointed. Maybe Dooleys could put a little sign up or something indicating new location. But, i guess as fast as word travels about big fish and whatnot, heck it's only Oct 31, maybe everyone would know by then. seems like The Swap Meet has a pretty good following, just dont' want the internetless folks to be left out.

I had too good a time at Dooley's last year. I like the idea of having it at the Holiday Inn, with cocktails after at DOoley's. Just gotta hear Thick Shady & the Muskie Nut Dancers!

I was at a Fox and the Hound around the corner from my place just two days ago, same layout as the one Luke is talking about. Will be a better place for the swap, more room, better location overall. And after say 9PM, those interested can mozey down to Dooleys for the Karaoke.
I have little to swap this year, cleaned myself out last year, just planning on stealing crap off of SteveW's table when he isnt looking. And yes Jonesi, my futon is your futon.
