Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I cup corn meal 1 cup wheat flour 2 tablespoons Lowry's Seasoning Salt 1 Teaspoon Cajun seasoning Mix batter ingredients. Fillet the panfish, roll moist filliets in the batter. Don NOT use eggs or milk. Fry over MH heat in butter until brown on both sides. Yummy. |

Location: Holly, MI | 1/3 pot of water
2 cans of Mountain Dew
1/2 cup salt
1 cup of sugar
Bring the above to a hard boil and drop in chunks of fish for a quick poach. Don't over cook them.
Dip poached pieces in melted (or drawn butter if you prefer) butter.
Add dill weed and or garlic to taste.
Ta-Da! poor mans LOBSTER.
It is a funny recipe from a friend that lives in Alaska but it tastes great!
I asked him 1/3 pot of water in what size pot? He said the kind you boil potatoes in (duh). The recipe was originally for halibut. It works well with any mild fish. |

Made me nervous, had to open it up, and check it out.When I was going to post my first message on this forum, I was going to post exactly that, if anyone had any recipes for Muskys, because I was tired of my old ones.However, not knowing anyone, I chickened out, but I can imagine the responses, I would have got. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Here's another: 2 cups flour 2 Tablespoons Lowry's Seasoning salt 1 Teaspoon white pepper 1 teaspoon lemon pepper spice Fillet the fish, roll in the mixed ingredients listed here, fry in butter until golden brown, enjoy! Sweeter taste, with lemon accents. Great dipped in home made fish sauce, 1/2 teaspoon creamed horse radish in a coffee cup 1/2 full of good quality ketchup, add a teaspoon of lemon juice. Another, this one is Kick Fanny!! 1 cup flour I tablespoon Lowry's Pamesan Cheese, bottle Grated cheese, your favorite Mix flour and spice Roll fillets in batter Fry in butter over medium heat both sides until golden brown. JUST as second side is done, liberally sprinkle the Parmesan and the grated cheese on the fillets until the grated cheese melts. Serve with a baked potato and sour cream, a good white wine, and a vegetable with melted grated cheese on top. Sue really likes this one, and especially likes it with brown trout or crappies. |

My wife makes the most incredible fish recipe that I have ever had but it is long and a high mantenance prep. She makes a pile of home made crepes first. Then makes a wine sauce with white wine and a ton of grated jack cheese (melted)(sauce also has flour,butter,lemon juice, and salt). The stuffing for the crepes is fish chunks (again, originally a Halibut recipe), slivered almonds, green onion(scallions), peas,mushrooms, 1/2 the cheese/wine sauce,and maybe a few small misc ingredients. Anyway the stuffing is rolled up in the crepes and they are placed in a baking dish and covered with the rest of the cheese sauce and then with shredded Mozzerella cheese. Bake then for the last few minutes "broil to brown the top cheese.
WOW! You will think you went to Heaven.
That goofy Lobster recipe is actually very good and all of you are a "dill weed" if you don't try it. |

Location: Germantown & Land O Lakes WI | If you have any musky or northern fillets, try making pike chowder by boiling 1/2" cubes until tender and adding them to jalepenos and cheddar cheese soup.....it's very good. The pike should be fresh, frozen seems to give a "fishy" taste. |
