If fishermen would limit their panfish keepers to medium sized fish and NOT ALL THEY CAN CATCH, panfish would be bigger and more numerous, kinda like muskies are becoming.
Like that is gonna happen....
The lake I live on in Oneida County has limits of 25 total panfish, no more than 10 of any species. Has been in place for almost three years, will be interesting to see what happens. I did notice that some of the guys who used to ice fish for hours over a group of cribs has not been there since that went in place. Don't know if it is the limits or the fact that the resort where they used to cut through despite no trespassing signs has a new owner who won't let them trespass. They can still get on the lake quite easily but they would have to walk a few hundred yards further.
