Location: Madison, WI | I know this past week everybody's put their rods away due to the extreme heat, water temps in the mid 80s are not good. But it looks like its cooling off now and shouldn't be too bad this next week. I'm curious are people going to get out when the water temps are around or below 80 again? Or give it a bit of time from the crazy heat we've just been having. Last thing I want is to get out there and accidentally kill a fish because of stress due to the heat. |

Location: Hayward WI | Was bassin on Monona last nite. Surface temps 80-82 still. With the day temps 80+ the rest of the week, it's not gonna cool the water much at night. Personally done with muskies till probably late Aug when temps should be down. |

Location: Contrarian Island | there are always some who will fish no matter the temps. it's the same few boats too.. see em every year. temps were ok a few days ok but as Eric pointed out are at the 80 or so mark by mid afternoon.
the tuesday league chose not to fish this past tuesday even tho temps were 78ish. there were 2 very big ones floating dead on monona this past week as well.

Location: Roscoe IL | anyone know what the temps on monona are ? Im a new muskie fishermen and being that im extra paranoid about hurting a fish i wouldnt want to go up there if temps were 80*, granted with my current skill level the odds of me hooking a good fish are about as good as the packers winning the superbowl this year |

| Hey Big Stick,
Haven't been on the chain musky fishing since the water got above 80 on July 3rd. Thanks for your concern about me! Been doing well in Vilas Co. travel on up here and catch some fish so you don't have to trash other guys. Side note, I was without a trolling motor for last couple weeks and haven't been fishing. If you start paying my Bill's I will entertain the idea of you dictating when, if, how or where I fish. |
