| Know it is “the other esox,” but wanted to share this video I took last week on a trip to Canada catching a 46.5” pike.
I use a lot of light musky gear fishing for pike up north, and used a St Croux Mojo 7’6 MH rod, Shimano 400 Tranx, 80lb masterbriad, and caught this girl on a 7.5” phantom softtail. Most of the time the tackle is overkill, but on fish like this it pays off!

Too far north and west for muskies range. It's about a nine hour and west car drive from Winnepeg, and just over the boarder into Saskatchewan. |
