| I miss that place, As a young kid my dad would bring me there. I bought my first st.croix musky rod and several baits from that shop. That's where the addiction started. |

Can I ask whats so special about this sign?
It's mostly personal. Hayward is where I started muskie fishing with Pastikas being our "go-to" place for all of our bait and tackle needs (not just for muskie)
Recently while looking to buy a home in Tennessee, we wre considering a nice log home in northeastern Tn. On a wall in the great room was a tin sign with the image of the sign I referenced. This just made me smile and instantly put me in one of my "happy- places" particularly the older version prior to the refurbishing of the sign. So much so that I would like a similar (tin) sign in the man-cave of the home we purchased. I was rather amused at seeing the sign in NE Tennessee. But I instantly knew it's origin. Keep in mind that the sign I was looking at and am seeking out is not the one with the Pastika's name on it. It just says "live bait, tackle, ice, and fly shop" So you really kinda have to know it. I'm sorry they're no longer in business.
So that's what's so special about this sign.....

| I understand completely what your trying to do I use to love going there when I was younger and my mom and dad giving me an allowance to buy some lures. I’d spend hours in there w only enough money for a few lures. I found a print in Hayward of the old store sign I had to have it. I’ll try and post a pic |

| My wife went into town (Hayward) and came back with some greeting cards with a painting of the Pastika's sign on the front. An artist, Ellen Binder, has done a watercolor of the sign which is on the front of these cards. She did a nice job with it.
Pastika's sign fans might be interested in her website: www.ellenbinder.com. She is offering prints for sale, but it looks like they are only 10 x 13. I don't know if she could do one larger. She has done some watercolors of some other Hayward landmarks and former landmarks as well.
