| I would not say Long was not relevant to the masses. He was on the cover of national magazines and had a rod line with Dobyns and now has/had one with Airrus. This is a huge deal in the bass world; which dwarfs our musky world. |

| Charlie the Tuna has been on magazine covers, does that make him relevant? No, it just makes him a subject on one of hundreds of newspapers or magazines. I'm a guy who follows BASS from a distance, know or recognize the names of many of the players. This guy I don't know, haven't heard of. I would argue he is getting more press for cheating than anything positive he had ever done.
As much as we in the fishing arena like to think our sport / hobby matters and thousands or millions follow it, fact is it's a niche sport or hobby. Interesting to follow but really means very little to the masses. Ask 1000 people on the street and most would guess you are talking about Howie Long the football guy vs some fishing guy. |

| The California Bass lakes have a following all their own. This cheater is well known in Califirnia, but not nationally. It sounds like he sure scammed a bunch of cash! |

Location: Duluth | Definitely was not trying to stir the pot. Just thought the similarities made for a good comparison, considering Long didn't catch many of his records himself.
Also, Long was THE NAME in big bass in the early oughts. His testimonials popularized big swim baits. |
