Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you have ever had to replace a removable bow mount light before. I just put a new trolling motor on this year and it is mounted in front of my bow nav light. You can see it from either side but if you are coming directly at me I feel like it might be hard to see.

Knowing that I purchased a new longer one online and it doesn't seem to get a connection or its broken. When I took the head off the new bow light the bulb looks good so I am stumped. Are bow lights universal or should I be looking for a specific one?

My boat is 1997 skeeter fish and ski

Thanks!
VMS

Hiya,

I'd start by using leads of wire and run them from a battery up to the inlets on the light...if it's working, it will light up. From there, if you have a light tester, you can test the ends in the light socket itself. turn the light switch on, see if your tester lights up. Turn it off, light should be off.

If both of those items work, then it is somehow going to be a connection issue between the light itself and the socket.

Forgot to add that when I stick my old light in that it does work.. so that's why I was confused.

Sorry for not adding that in my initial post.
