A lot of hook hangers are too small to get the Wolverine Split rings to fit and still move freely around without getting jammed. What do you guys use? Buchers?

Yes Buchers, that is the problem I have with wolverine rings. They are strong though.

try the #5 custom rings (the SILVER ones)- they were designed for the smaller eyes screws and wire loops and fit everywhere. also, these are what i use instead of snaps now, and put one on the nose of all my lures. lot easier to work with too

Yes, use the buchers or the extra strong steel ones, not the stainless ones.

I was using Buchers, but this year they just don't seem to have as much strength to them. They appear the same, but they don't have that "snap" when you put them on and sometimes there is a noticable gap that remains after you put them on, especially when you put them on screw eyes that are just a little too big. But in tight situations, they are still the lowest profile. I order splitrings from Moores Lures, and for rings that I attach to the nose of lures, I've been using splitrings from Bass Pro Shops out of their saltwater catalog. When you put them on, there is an audible "snap" when they attach.
I still have to thank the guy who told me to use splitrings instead of snaps. All of my lures now have their own splitring, and I'm making leaders in three different diameters. ZERO lost lures or terminal failures this year.
