Location: New Hope MN | I’ve been musky fishing for close to 30 years now, and have always done a musky trip every year. However, I have always wanted to try something wildly different. Tarpon, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, or Marlin. But what else is out there? How about Arowana? Or how about Amur Pike, Peacock bass, or…?
If money was no option, and you could spend a week anywhere in the world, what species would you target and where would you go?

| I always wanted to catch peacock bass in the jungle... ripping big topwaters and getting crushed looks like a blast! Tarpon would be a close second. |

| After catching some smallish Halibut last year in Alaska (40 lbs), would love to go back and fish for some of the giants that are out there. One of my sister's neighbor's in SE Alaska fishes almost exclusively for big Halibut, when not salmon fishing. He said the bait often includes a whole herring and a salmon head. His biggest was 280 pounds.
They fight like mad but they also taste great and are easy to fillet. |

| Lake Kesagami about 100 air miles north of Cochrane Ontario. Best lake in Ontario for giant pike and tons of nice walleye. Also been there 3 times your up near the tree-line so you get the opportunity to see a totally different type of wilderness. Caraboe, few moose. some very big bears, etc. Stuff you just don't see on your average Canadian trip. Warning even in June it can snow or aproach 100 F, crazy climate since your south of Hudson's bay. The nice thing the trip can still be done for ~ 2 K/ wk.

| A big part of a dream trip for me is doing it unguided. I'd want to do any of these trips in my own boat or a buddy's. Also these are my dream trips, even including muskies.
Northern Canada jigging big lakers and casting big pike.
Isle Royale lakers.
Nipigon pike, lakers, and brookes. |

Northern Canada giant lake trout
Gord Pyzer told an awesome story about absolutely hammering monster lake trout on Lake Athabasca on our podcast. Made me want to get up there so badly lol.
For me,
1) Arapaima
2) Golden Dorado
Tarpon, Goliath Tigers also get honorable mention. Whoever said Taimen was a great one too. Too many fish not enough time!!! |

Haha....Well, you have a lot of great fisheries nearby that would still allow you to sleep at home. |

| Never been a fly guy, but a Salmon trip to Alaska sounds like a ton of fun
Peacock Bass
NO desire whatsoever to fish for anything that requires me strapped into a chair and fighting the same fish for hours
I'd do another 3 day saltwater trip. Best fish I've ever eaten was grouper, and it's like a supersized SM bass as far as the fight.
Halibut? Depends on how close they are to eating flounder.
I've done a fair amount of saltwater fishing, and that's something I'd recommend to anyone. You just never know what's going to be running through your area. Do not recommend Mackerel for table fare. When the schools run through, it's a riot. Fun as heck to catch one right after the other. But unless you're going to smoke them? Blech.
I fish muskies for sport, and there are a handful of other fish I'd chase just for entertainment value. But the older I get, the more I want to fish for something that tastes good.
A lady friend of mine from Seattle does a lot of crabbing expeditions. Mmmm. Crab! |

White sturgeon fishing on the Snake river in Idaho.
Got a chance to do this last fall, the jet boat ride through Hell's Canyon was worth the price of admission alone. Lost one big one that straightened the hook. I would definitely recommend Mountain River Outfitters. Shot some chukars in between the sturgeon holes too. |

Location: Almond, WI | Pike in the Baltic Sea. I'd do it as a combo and also fish zander, perch or browns. But the 30-40lb pike would be the focus. I've priced it out and it's not too bad actually, about comparable to a Canadian fly-in. |

Location: West Bend WI | Fishing in the Caribbean again. My daughter, son & I went in summer of 2017 to grand bahama island. This was an early August trip/vacation to send my daughter off to college. Booked a $75 a head trip where we fished shallower water off shore w/cutbait & squid. Caught a bunch of smaller fish, just like panfishing, only some of them were toothy. Was funny when my daughter reeled one in, Captain Jack says "Lauren caught a Slippery Dik". What a blast!
