May I ask why 80lb?
I know lot of old school guys use heavy Mono. I use 80# 0r 100# not for fear of fish break off I do it due to getting expensive custom crank baits snagged and wanting to be able to retrieve them. Lot better change of line not breaking with heavy braid...

I wouldn't worry too much about the line as long as it's newer (in terms of use). 80# line opposed to 100# line will allow the lure to get a little deeper with more line out due to the thinner diameter dragging through the water. 100# line may have a bit better wear resistance and might be a bit better with Planer Board clips (unless you use some tricks to lock it down).
