Have a friend taking his family to San Juan Puerto Rico. They are looking at booking a fishing charter for the 5 of them (ages 44-70). They are complete amateurs. They just want to catch a bunch of fish. Their budget is $450. This seems low to me, but don’t let that limit your recommendations.

Anyone have any guides/charters they’ve used down there?

Went out with a captain from here a couple years ago. Very fun and easy to fish with: https://www.gofishinginpuertorico.com/

About a mile out from San Juan there is a trench which drops off dramatically to the deepest point of the Atlantic. If you are interested, this provides a great opportunity to do some deep sea fishing relatively close in. Jose Campos was the go to guy there for many, many years for this type of fishing. Don't know if he is still active.

Note that I see he has gotten some very unfavorable reviews in recent years.
