Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Cady and I have created a new bait that runs like an Undertaker (but better IMOP) that is much larger. Right now we're planning on debuting it during the Chicago Musky Expo. One thing we would like everyone's oppinion on is what colors would you buy? I've got Todd Cleveland (Phantom guy) lined up to do the hard coat and paint job so quality will be assured. We want to limit the selection to 5-6 colors to start with and we'll see where it goes from there. Steve, it'd be great if you can setup a pole for this message for me since I'm a computer dunce. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!!!!!!! |

| New bait, thats great! For colors I look for colors and would like to see new color combo`s that are not just copies of the same old, sameold! If you get my drift! As of now I have 500+ musky-baits,as probably do alot of others and for myself, I don`t spend any more money on close copies of things I already own! Anything that looks different at the shows this winter, I will buy! Otherwise I will save my cash as I am done building a collection of different baits that all look alike! It`s just money not well spent! Just my opinion, looking for freaky different! |

Location: Oshawa, Ontario | Great news, always like to try out new baits. I have heard Todd (Phantom Guy) is a busy guy, and while he does great work you may want to contact Stan Durst of Durst Products - I hear his work is top notch and it is his specialty, not a side line for another manufacturer. No disrespect intended for Todd.
Anyway, my colours are;
Perch white belly
Black perch white belly
Walleye white belly
Sucker white belly
Black perch white belly (I know I already named it, but it WORKS!!) |

| walleye white belly
perch
white blue/cisco
orange/black dots
black
chartruse/black dots
tennessee shad
bumble bee

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I'm with the rest, I would like to see more natural patterns! Goofy colors are great, but I think alot of us fish pretty clear water, and lets be honest, the muskies are targeting perch colored perch, not firetiger! My selections:
-baby pike
-" " musky
-perch
-rock bass
-bluegill
-cisco/shad
see my general drift? |

Treats, are you going to sell your glider at the show too? It's as good as there is dude. Think about that jerkbait too, it jukes pretty good for a large jerkbait.

2. Perch
3. Walleye
4. Crappie
5. Bluegill
6. Sucker
All of the above in natural colors and, if you have room for one more color, how 'bout Purple on top with plum on lower sides and belly and big bright yellow eyes? I just painted up an old Magnum Rattle Trap like that and it looks awesome!! Sounds bad, I know, but it looks like a fish catcher to me. |

| Treats, Treats, Treats....
Lettin the cat outta the bag. Just show the pictures.
Todd Cleveland? That must be a rumour we can't afford that OHHH YEAH IT's NOT YOUR $$$$!!
Just kidding.
One thing I'd like to do is make some colors that catch fish and not just fishermen. We'll make those available at the Chicago show.
Start the hype I guess...
Largest 47"....to date...but it just became prime "Walking Bull" time.
And GregM you know me better than that.... Can you say twin tail?
The new and PROFESSIONAL "Musky Treat" is in the works... Treats doesn't get to touch it other than to weight it.

Location: Appleton, WI | Colors that I always find myself buying and grabbing are the following:
Perch...I'm willing to bet that it's one of the most sought after color schemes for most lure manufactures. I've caught more fish on this color scheme than any other...but than again it might be all that I throw
Shimmerin Shad/Cisco...whatever you want to call it...It's that cool looking color scheme that Bagley,Bucher,Hi-Fin, ERC have in there line-up.
Bluegill...Like has been said. What ever happened to this color pattern? Deadly on all types of waters. Good in stained
sucker/panfish lakes and also awesome on cisco based lakes.
Golden Shiner...I know a few guys that like this pattern and it's for good reason. It's starting to grow on me also... Another versatile clear/stained water bait.
Black and Holoform Silver/Glitter Silver. One of those universal color patterns that always rocks the fish.
There's more, but I think these colors will cover majority of the bases for any water types, and are definite proven producers.
catch ya later,
Krappie

| That's a special color. Won't find it anywhere! |
|

|
| I'll second the bullhead color. How about a carp color? A nice gold and orange would be good. The flowages I fish are loaded with both and neither color is easy to find. |

Location: Black Creek, WI | Sounds like a cool lure you got going Mr. Treats and Mr. Cady. From the fish pics Worrall posted it LOOKS good too... especially hanging out the side of a ski's mouth.
As for colors, I could live with three proven fish catchers.
1. Brown back, gold sides (holoform, glitter, or just a good metallic paint), white or orange belly.
2. Black Back, silver sides (holoform, glitter, or just a good metalic paint), white belly.
3. Anything with LOTS of Chartruese on it.
The remaining two color patterns you could use to SELL lures:
4. Perch
5. Something with lots of flo. orange.
jlong
P.S. Cady, I gave you a TripleD before they were released for retail. Any chance you can return the favor (heh heh)??? |

Location: Kawarthas, Ontario | I second, third or whatever on the natural patterns. I make a brown perch/walleye type pattern that just slays them in the clear Kawartha lakes.
I also don't see the need for hyper-realistic patterns, impressionistic patterns that suggest a baitfish also work really well, but I guess it depends on casting baits vs. trolling baits. I don't think the pattern means as much when the bait's moving at 5+ mph |

no one likes yellow belly perch? I do (especially if deeper water)
a light colored sucker (they are not all black)
baby carp (say soft rayed) go down well
yes yes on Bluegill (or maybe sunfish/rockbass)

| Ive held the lure, worked it and even threw one into the bottom of the lake via snap failure,,its big and oval and slow,,,how can you not offer it in a bullhead color
Its short and stockey and ugly,,,have Todd paint me one in Brown with black zig zag stripes and painted in smile with big teeth,,,and I'll call it the "Pit Bull"
