I'm sucking it up this year. I have 11 fish in the boat. 3 over 30". I have a pike bigger than my biggest Musky!!!
This is all going to change this weekend though, I'm sure of it.

way to to go man...the only bad thing about catching this one, it might be while before another as big or bigger visits your boat.
DOH!!!

Now, all of those were caught during the legal musky season thus far in Vilas Co Wis. Musky opens Memorial Day Weekend on non-boundry waters. Add another 6 (2 legals est.) that were caught from the fishing opener to the end of May. All 6 were caught live bait fishing for walleye and ALL were released.

Location: Chippewa Falls Wisconsin | Fishing dark the flowage waters of the chippewa river and learning them has been an experence to say the least. You can be a kid in a candy store one day and get the door slammed on you the next day. And dont talk to me about water levels and flows and when and if the power companys open the gates....sheesh!!!
You dont see follows, you simple catch fish or loose fish or get massive wakes behind topwaters...thats how you know they are there...very hard for a former Pewaukee (fish factory) angler to understand. LOL
But fishing 3-4 days a week for a few hours at a crack here is my totals so far.
2 Cave Run March
1 Pewaukee May
13 this June from 34" to 45" all but one on topwater.
1 in the summer on a jerkbait
15 in Canada top two were 40"
3 this fall so far top two 44" and 47"
35 total
I have to figure out how to catch muskies here in July and early August or I am going to go NUTS. Trolling is legal...but there is WOOD everywhere and where there is not wood...they put CRIBS....Drives me NUTZ!
Back at it again tonight!

The big girls will hopefully landing in my boat soon. |

A little behind last year, with a much worse July and Aug. but a much better Sept. 4 over 45" so far in the boat this year, and that is down a bit from last year too. Biggest is a pair of 47"ers, a beefy one from WI(photo attatched) and an average one from CA. Monica(my wife) has 5 muskies over 34" and a 40"pike(from Ca). Her biggest is a 45.5"er from WI the day after I got my 47". Jason, headed to lower Chip myself Fri., anything moving on upper end of holcombe? I noticed it got quite green this year, did that all blow out? Thanks. Hopefully I don't have to crack ice tommorrow!! Jason D. Schillinger

9 fish is very impressive for a rookie. May all the years ahead impress the last.
Plus, we're comin into the fall. Spend a lot of time on the water. This is the time you can really start catching a lot of nice fish! We go up in November and we always catch fish. Many multi-fish days.
Bundle up and good luck.
by the way.....I have one (1) more post than you.

| This is my second year and I have caught 13. I don't think I can catch last years totals but I have fished a lot of new lakes this year. I have boated 3 over 40 which is better than last year. I get out for one full day a week on average and was handicapped by spending 3 days in the jinxed spot in the back of Phish Killer's boat. I've got a 3 day trip planned so hopefully those numbers will change! |

Not trolled as much this year, kept my numbers down but not bad considering I only fish one day a week, have missed about 5 weekends and I don't fish much when I go up north. I help my kids which is even more fun watching them catch one. Hope to get to 28 fish, my best year which was last year. Won't make it to 57 in the boat, my dad has not caught many this year. |

I have 32 all togeather with the people that I have been taking out with 49"s being the biggest. I still have to get the pics of that fish developed so I can post a pic.
The coolest thing is that the wife to be has got 2 legals this year in 3 trips musky fishing. The biggest was 43. That is the highlight of the season.

Thankfully, my family isn't depending on me to support them by fishing. Still try to do it for the enjoyment. Have had some really nice trips with some really great friends. Especially my son. We'll see what fall brings us. ...said Dad to the family at the dinner table.....,"Did anyone see the boat hooked up to the truck in the driveway? Do we all know what that means? RIGHT! It means I'm sleeping on the couch tonight...." LOL p.s. My record gives Tuffy something to tease the "Old guy" about....(heh heh)

have had my share of misses and lost fish....think for sure I have had more big fish follow up though...just not converting them. Last year i seem to have had more boatside hits, not so this season.
2 more months to get a biggun!!
p.s. 39.5" Pike though, that was nice |

My biggest size is 44-inches(3)this year and can't seem to get past it. The biggest client fish are 48 1/2-inches and 47-inches with some good 40's mixed in also.
All in all a very good year with lots of big girls to come yet. Cass Lake "will" kick out a brute for me, hopefully. I have spent more time on the water than usual, thats where you rack up the numbers.

| I have not fished nearly as much this year as I would've like to.
Most of my time has been spent in tournaments, and we all know that isn't exactly quality time on the water.
I only have 3 in the boat. 46.5, 43, 37.
Not bad though considering the average is 42.17.

(First Picture) In August, beat my personal best with a nice musky that hit a Jackpot on LOTW. (Second Picture). Then in September, my rod went off and this beast of a PIG was on the other end (Last Picture).

27 fish in the boat. 3 over 40" with the biggest topping out at 44". My annual trip to LOTW produced a good number of fish (13) with the largest going 41". I tangled with a couple hogs up there, maybe next year.....
Good luck to all!! |

I've been working full time at my cedar siding business and also building a new home so time on the water has been limited to rain days and when ever I can sneak one in. However today I was able to get out and we landed 3 with a 44" and a 45" also a 26" walleye. My 13 year old landed a 48" and a 46" in mid Aug. Every year is a great year when you're a spoonplugger!

Location: St. Louis, MO., Marco Is., FL, Nestor Falls, ON | Over 60 this year, with the biggest 51". The vast majority of those fish were caught on a small bucktail (Buchertail 500) with a chartreuse, orange and black blade. All were caught either in LOTW or Crow. It was a very good year for me. Best day was five over 40". The low water seemed to help me this year, but cost me 3 skegs. Pretty good trade off in my opinion. Stopped fishing muskies on Sept. 1st and really didn't fish much for muskies after the end of July. My wife came up and then some walleye fishing buddies. Sooooooo, most were caught prior to July 19th. Have to raise my goals for next year. Need a 54" and a total of over 70. Plan to fish till the end of Sept. next year, maybe even into Oct. I'm already missing the fishing. I'll start with the salt water at the end of Dec. Somehow sheepshead, grouper, snapper, snook, etc. just aren't the same as muskies. Not complaining, just stating a fact. Hope everyone has a good year in 2004.
