So while on the throne this morning prior to going out and brushing snow off the truck to head to the Larry I'm looking at the pictures in Len Hartmans book. Now we know that Lenny was not above a bit of exaggeration but the pictures do show that he and his wife Betty caught a lot of sizable fish. What was most notable to me on this winter morning that in most of the pictures Len was not wearing a shirt and Betty was wearing a bathing suit. This November the muskie gods and which ever deity controls the wind have not been kind to me so as I load the truck for what the forecasters say may likely be the last trip of the year I'm thinking Frankie your nuts.

There is a literary term "A Fine Madness". Can't remember the book title, but love the sentiment behind the phrase.

Nothing 3 boats 6 guy's. This has been the slowest Oct and Nov any of us remember. Very little bait any big hooks are 60 feet down. Aug and Sept were decent but Oct and Nov make you want to slash your wrists with a plastic knife. You know it's called the Big Empty but your looking for The Queen. Harbour will likely be froze up by Tues or Wed.

The Larry was as flat as the tables in Many's Pool Room today I thought we had been transferred to another dimension. By dark there were 6 boats on the 40 but no chatter on the radio or camera flashes.

Friends fishing walleye on Quinte are complaining about things being slower than normal.

Are you hoping for a muskie? Or a woman in a bikini?

Hello there Frankie...if you are crazy, nuts, bonkers and certifiable...so am I! I will make one more trip to the Larry before the season closes. Would welcome the opportunity to catch up with you and share some of your experience and knowledge about the Larry.

The Larry has had some very flat days this fall, for sure, and as my dear deceased brother used to say ‘If you aren’t suffering enough, you can’t catch fish!”.

My boys and I caught a really nice one on the 40 acre shoal on November 18th, just into Ontario near Black Ant island and a short boat ride from the Clayton municipal launch. We got some nice photos and released her, watching her swim away nice and strong.

I’m having a replica made as the fish was 54” and...wait for it...my first! I recongnize I may never catch another one like that; very, very lucky. We are still talking about it and it is clear I made the memory of a lifetime with my two boys.

I’m new on this forum...and haven’t gone through how to post a pic yet. Perhaps I can figure that out if you’d like to see it.

Crazy too,

CONGRATULATIONS great memories with your boys. It was a tough late fall for us this year every year seems different. We have had as many as 4 50's in the boat in one day and countless days of getting skunked. If I only wanted to catch muskies I have them 5 min from my front door but what I'm looking for I believe swims in the Larry. Thanks for letting the Princess swim someday she may be the Queen we spend so many hours looking for.

Frank,

Waylon Jennings brilliantly wrote "I've always been crazy......but it's kept me from going insane."

Stay "nuts" and it will be your saving grace, always. It keeps you alive beyond the physical definition of alive.

Hahahaha , Certifiable , Bonkers ,,,without a doubt , but i don't think you will get any sympathy , when you are riding around in a fully enclosed Lund with air ride seats and you ask to turn the heat down . Sane people don't drive around the same rock pile for hours and hope the next pass will be the ONE ! LoL , i still like your idea of sitting in a lawnchair and flinging corn out with a slingshot
