So what do you like for turnover fishing? Do they need more vibration help to find the lures or is it worth just waiting and fishing rivers in the meantime?

It's not so much the lure as fish location. You are better off fishing waters that are less effected by turnover. Fish shallow, rivers are a good choice as well as shallow lakes or lakes without a lot of water volume.
