Wissota was at 54.5 on Sunday. This morning it was 28 degrees here...so it should be in the 40's by now. NO indian summer days show up on the 14 day forcast...so I guess we will be fishing with tip ups in November.

What are your water temps?

This is not good! For ten years we've been going on a late fall outing that's been in November every year. We're tentatively scheduled for Nov. 15-17. Looks like we'll be moving that up this year!

I wouldn't be too concerned about an early freeze up. We may get some mornings with skim ice here and there, but I won't buck the trend until it's been broken. If that be this year, so be it. I'm still planning on fishing from my boat the last sunday of November.

I think we're getting ready for turnover. It seems the last 2 years now the turn has been pretty early. Hopefully it'll get over soon so we can resume our fatty chase.

We still have temps around 61-63 in Indiana, with these cold nights they should start to drop rapidly.

A buddy of mine was at Kincaid Lake in So Illinois today (despite the rain). He said temps were around 70. Cold front moved through and I understand the bite was non-existent.

Jason,

Sorry my initial post didn't take for some reason.  Currently water temps on the Fox Chain of Lakes are running 56-59 degrees depending on location.  One thing for sure is that turnover has started.  Hopefully the lake will flip in the next week or so.  That should tune things up for our 1st Annual Fall Challunge on the Chain on 10/25/03.  We still have openings.  Any chance you might join us for this bash?  Currently we have 50 teams registered!!

:)

It was snowing here this afternoon. I have the wood furnace cooking, and Mr. Bluegill just picked up a Woodchuck I had here for his place. It is COLD, hard freeze again tonight. My guess is the water temps will be about 50 by the weekend, maybe cooler. Keith's hunting buddy got a nice doe yesterday. What to do this weekend, fish or hunt?

Wisconsin river in Wood Co.  was 54 yesterday(my boat and WI river power hotline temp).  Trend is a downward shift of about 1-2 degrees a day.  It dropped 20 degrees the past two weeks.
