Is this an anti muskie bait shop? Promoting killing and keeping fish 9 inches under limit?

If you go on their Facebook and view photos there's more pics of even smaller dead muskies including another held By the same guy that looks to be well under 30 inches
Might be worth a call to the DNR if you're local

On the facebook post he claims it was from a private pond. Judging from the other pics on his page its possible, shows shore fishing pond-size water with just grass shoreline. Does mention the pond in older pics too.
I wouldn't crucify the bait shop just yet, but they do seem to be anti every species judging from the pics they post. One claims "caught and released" on a picture of a catfish in the store.

Just thought I'd ask. Still don't know if it's legal. Regulations say all waters. And far as I know you still need a fishing license to fish even in private ponds in Iowa. I am not a fan of the state being able to tell you what you can and can't do on your own land in your own pond with your own fish. So I guess if he is just bonking his own fish I don't care. Still think it's a waste but if it's not the public resource just his own. More power to him.

Iowa regs says the landowner doesn't need a license on private property but others do, and "statewide length limits do not apply on private waters".

We've had high water this year and last losing a lot of fish over the lower gar outlet. My guess is the creek/river flooded into his pond if that is in fact where he caught it.

Statewide length limits do apply to state waters which would include the river under the lower gar outlet
