One of the best days I have ever had on the water my son had TWO Banannas in a lunch. Took them out to eat lunch as I put out two boards. Two walleyes over 10# ad a bunch of big pike later, he gave up and put the lunch back.

Steve, bananas may be good for walleye fishing. I haven't tested that "technique" yet. But I do know that muskies hate em. lol

Hiya,
Actually, no bananas on board is an old old sailor's superstition. They are supposedly bad luck. Some other ones: no pigs or pork products on board, and even saying 'pig' is a bad idea - it's bad luck because pigs can't swim. And, never saying the number '13' - you should say '12 plus 1' instead. Whistling on board is a no-no - it's said to 'whistle up the wind.' And never leave a hatch cover upside down - I suppose because it's a symbol for an upside down boat.

(Gramps was in the Navy )

At a previous job, we were treated to a salmon outing on Michigan out of Two Rivers. We met the captain for lunch before our afternoon booking.
At lunch some inquired about sea-sickness and he grabbed a bottle of pills for all of us to pop if we were woried about it (cant remember the name).

Well one of the persons got very very sick anyhow even with the pill (think you have to take em the night before to be more efective)...the captain said next time you should eat the pill with a banana.......the person asks "Does that really help too?"...captain replies, well it'll sure make things slide out easier!!

hahahaha, the boat was the Violater...what a card!!

Wish I had read this post before heading out to the lake the past couple of weeks. I take naners with me all the time and I have been skunked since late July. No more naners for me.
