Well, it is muskie fishing for the rest of the fall now. I arrowed a fat 8 pointer tonight, and called it good. Have this terrible pull to the water this fall I have not had in years, so look out, Pelican Lake Muskies!![] []

Once the photo portion of this site is up and running, we expect to see the source of next year's bucktails proudly displayed.
I know that you probably don't have the heart to eat the tenderloins from a buck that you shot (you did arrow the buck before you hit it with the truck, didn't you?), I will gladly take the tenderloins from you for your piece of mind!
Congratulations!

Sorry, Steve, I had the tenders last night. A tradition here. And, they were excellent!!

I am on a 'be healthy' 30 year program( that would put me at 79, still a young fella), and am down to 190 from 225. I WILL stay at 185. Venison is VERY effective if cooked no fat, and pike at 200 calories per serving is tops. A few veggies, and NO BEER, and away I go!!!

Hey Sponge...how many calories in a Pay Day??

LOL Stever, I eat the Pay Days to stay at a trim 175...plus Velveeta cheese sandwiches, Spam, pork chops, crawfish, shellfish, goldfish + anything that doesn't eat me first! At 48 I can still do that but one of these days it may catch up w/ me but slinging big mail sacks + conducting the "boss toss" enables me to stay in mediocre shape....plus one must exhibit control when eating.....2-4 Pay Days per day instead of 4-6![:0] [:sun:]

Sponge, make sure that you alternate sides when you do your "Boss Toss", (is that a video game?) so that you keep your Terminator Physique balanced!

Congrats on your buck Worrall. I hope to do the same in a couple of weeks. I shot two bucks and two does last year and my freezer is still full. So I am going to be very picky this year.

Let just say it better have a good rack, just the way Slamr likes them.[;)]

Now that you have time, maybe now that you can order hats and shirts for these folks.. I am sure they would like.[]

LOL! JeffB....that reminds me --3 yrs. ago a buddy of mine brought some bear barbeque down to the local bait/tackle/hunting store + Sponge Babe was about to take her first bite.....a tall skinny dude we call Ghandi had put a wax worm from the bait cooler on his plate to freak her out....she saw it, screamed + I almost got a face full of hot meat....she will NEVER eat it again![:0] [:sun:]
Steve L...this is a "real life" workout in my mind! I often picture myself giving him hug therapy....until his tiny frame goes limp in my arms....actually he is tolerable + I am extremely hard to get ticked off! But he has made me jam my hands in my pockets + bite numerous holes in my tongue.....[:(] [:sun:]

Well, the buck is in the freezer, so Beav and I will be attacking the muskies up here next weekend. This weekend, the does are going to catch some lead...need to thin the herd, dangerous to drive after dark here at any speed.[:blackeye:]

Hee hee heeee....cold up there boys???/ we got the high winds but still in the 70s + in shorts/t-shirts....thank goodness the cold hasn't showed up as forcast but will only be in the high 50s for a couple of days which means the inlaws will most likely be confined to the indoors[:(]....BUT....a mega culinary hedonistic affair will take place tomorrow night at the Texas Steak House or the Outback gorging on HOT wingees, battered onions, rare dripping meat + Coke Colas..... when in a stupor, encouraged by too many spices I will announce to the doubting "outlaws" my comeplete faithfulness + dominance of their daughter + that I really appreciate them paying the humongo bill that I will ring up![:0] [:sun:]

What do you mean MON.......let FREEDOM RING DUDE!!!! No having to worry about saying the wrong thing.....go fishing/hunting when you want....eat what, when, where you want....no having to watch a wife slave for days cleaning house, cooking a bunch of stuff nobdy eats + getting screamed at if you or Jr. dude spill something....no "where did you buy this?".....you having to say "I didn''t, you did!".....now lean back in that Barco Lounger + start counting those blessings!!![:0] [:sun:]
Do like I did....climb into your stand + come out an hour later w/ a deer! want to save a few bucks?....pop a doe![:p]

Sponge, my philosophical friend, you have a way of saying things that simply makes perfect sense...Already shot a doe, need to shoot my second so I can concentrate on my rifle buck.

They have knocked us into the stone age as far as deer tags go....only 3 w/ 1 in another county for a total of 4...really bites as they are proliferating like rabbits!! Anyway VA. TECH is getting thumped by SYRACUSE 20-7....2 EXTREMELY POOR calls against the Orangemen also...I can't stand Tech + only them getting beat will make up for this whole past year at work!! 5:40 to go....dude, Becks beer has a hilarious commercial....gotta go....[:sun:]

Steve,
First contact in many many months. Congrats on the buck. I've been to busy hunting this past month and a half to be fishing. Hunted Canada last week and shot an 8 and a 10 pointer, 240 and 245 pounds dressed. If your looking for a partner for a day or so to do some fishing, I know that I can sneak away. I'm not all that far away. Give me a call at 800-498-3913 or e-mail me at [email protected].

Steve,
Give me a call. I don't think I have your home number. I haven't muskie fished since early September. My fall was WAY busy. Talk to you soon.
