Location: Des Plaines, IL | I'm taking my uncle up to Vilas county starting Thursday night for a trip. He and my grandfather are really the ones who got me in to fishing, so I owe him big time. We'll be staying on Plum Lake, but we'll fish the Manitowish Chain (since we know that water pretty well) and possibly some other local lakes there.
My uncle's biggest musky is 32", so our goal for this trip is to break that. Anyone will to share any information on Plum Lake or recommend other lakes that might give us some good opportunities? I'd love for the cooling temperatures to give us a shot at some fish on topwater too, as I have yet to catch a musky on top.
As always, any info is much appreciated. |

Location: Already Gone | Dan, I'm only speaking for myself, I really don't know much, but I've had good success fishing Wildcat Lake on M. It's a nice ramp, and it's relatively simple to figure out a few good spots on a map. It does have some good fish in it, despite the fact that it sees alot of attention. I like the lake alot myself.
Sorry I can't help you more, but it sounds to me that either way, you are going to have a very cool trip with him. Good Luck. |

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | ...I would try shallow weeds....hooked a monster in 3.5’ fow on Sunday...some say it’s too soon and it’s still a deep rubber bite, but the nights have been cooling... |

They are talking lows in the 40's (probably lower) up there this week.
I'll be staying at Big ST 21st thru 28th. If anyone wants to compare patterns, PM me and we can exchange numbers.

Location: Seymour, WI | The cooling weather this wk should be perfect for a good topwater bite. I would start the day with fast moving topwaters and bucktails in very shallow water. |
