Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Well, let's see now. This is an river/ impoundment. There is a distinct river channel. If the pool is lower than normal, then the break from the surrounding area to the river channel is more pronounced (as in fishable, fish holding, navigable, ect.) as the river channel IS the deepest portion of the system, and the surrounding areas that are usually fishable and easily traversed flats and stump fields are pretty badly 'high and dry'. Stump fields are harder or near impossible to fish, and the flats just to the sides of the channel are nearly gone. Say, as an example, there is normally 6' to 8' for several yards on both sides of the channel which is usually 16'. Easier/more productive to fish than if there is 2' on the flats and 11' in the channel, yes? The structure is restricted due to low water, and more pronounced; wouldn't you agree? My son was just on two systems boom shocking, and described the water as very low, in fact they were aground in the boom shocking rig a few times in areas they usually move right through. No idea what else happens in Wisconsin when you are gone. As far as hearing one hand clapping, I think I sometimes hear yours (perhaps slapping your knee?) |
