Hey all, I am new to this forum, and to musky. I have been heading to LOTW for 6 years, out of Kenora, always in September. We target pike and walleye, and quite familiar with them at this time of year. We usually fish from Kenora, to entrance of clearwater all the way to the Narrows/Crow Rock. We have caught 1 musky and have been hooked to catch more.
Any suggestions this time of year? Casting v trolling? If casting is it still a bucktail bite (8's v 10's), shallow raider, shadzilla vs jakes/jerk baits or just throw them all until something bites?
I have heard mixed things on depth from these forums, some say they move off a bit deeper and some say shallower? Usually water this time of ears is low/mid 60's with algae bloom.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

There are many threads about LOTW to search through. I'd suggest doing that. But Sept. can be great and terrible. I've had days that played out perfect during a moon phase with overcast skies and have had 7 follows and caught 3 in a 90 min period. But last year i was there for 3 nights and we caught an east wind that lasted for all 3 days with some of the heaviest rain i've ever seen and only saw a few fish. I'm leaving tomorrow for 3 nights and going back first week of Sept for 4 nights. It's all about the weather first then you can work your plan. If water is still in low 60's upper 50's anything goes but i'd start shallow with bucktails and topwater and if the weather is right you should do just fine. Go deeper and change things up if you get blanked.
