Muskiefishman-
I've been having good luck at Echo Lake. Got a 38" on last Thurs at sunset, and a 42" beauty on the one clear day for the summer. Both were on jerkbaits in about 14' water. The topwater action has been amazing on cloudy days, and closer to the full moon. Watch out for the bats - they go for your lure and often hit your line.
Have not fished Skunksville this year but hear that suicks are hot.
I have almond color deep-v. Next time you're at Echo, say hello.

Gimo...

Thanks!!! Is there a boat rental place on that lake? I've been to Greenwood a couple times, and muskie fish at my folks in Indiana quite a bit, but unfortunately without a car(Hoboken) or boat, my NJ muskie fishing needs to be real planned out. Any info on boat rentals anywhere around there would be great....I want to try and get out in NJ at least once this fall.

Thanks

Muskiefishman-

Went out to Monksville on Sat and got a nice fat 36" out of the weeds on a gray, rainy day. The weeds are still way up on the east side of the causeway, and we got him on the east side of the bay. Using black jerkbaits.
Two casts later, got a 4lb bass on the same jerkbait !

Anybody else having any luck at Monksville or Echo ???

Hi Mr Gemo -- Never got an answer about the joke you made about me and boat control last week here on the board -- I'll ask again -- I've never meet you -- Why wisecrack about me here on muskiefirst ???? If I did something to upset you and the guide you were fishing with just say so -- email me privately if need be but I want to know -- ManitouDan -- [email protected]

manitou-
consider it an ineffectual illustration (albeit wet humor) of the differences in fishing styles, protocol, and topwater "pressure" that result from our search for one thing - big, beautiful fish.
if that's not good enough for you, well then first rounds on me, and i always carry two good cigars.

I don't follow you at all -- differences in "protocol" and " topwater pressure" What are you talking about ? I won't pursue this much further but would like it cleared up -- Did your guide think I did something to crowd or cut you off ? ManitouDan
