I know this isn't muskie related, but I've been trying with little success to get in contact with French and Italian pike fishermen and guides in an attempt to set up a fishing outing to try and catch the 2 newest species of esocids; the Italian Southern pike Esox cisalpinus, and the French Aquintanian pike Esox aquintanus?. I know a few Europeans follow this site and am hoping someone out there can help me out in my quest. Or at least point me in the direction of people who could help me out. I have bone cancer and my main bucket list goal is to catch as many of the members of Esocidae as I can; I continually decline in my health and need to make the trip while I still can travel and am able to effectively fish. I unfortunately don't speak either language, so an English speaking contact is necessary. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

Social media is probably one of your best bets. I collect hockey pucks and have a ridiculous amount of Instagram followers/contacts in Russia, Kazakhstan, and other European countries. I've got to imagine that there are anglers in the areas you seek. Connect with them and attempt to start a dialogue. Instagram provides some translation capabilities though I'm sure it's pretty generic.

Wish I could help you, this sounds like a cool venture and I hope you're successful.

TTT, My son had osteosarcoma and The Make A Wish Foundation was incredibly kind and generous to him and our family and as he declined, accomplished some things with regard to his wishes that I didn't think were possible. Make a Wish is for children, but I've looked on-line and it does appear that there are some similar organizations for adults such as The Dream Foundation and The Bucket List Foundation. I have had no experience with these organizations, so I don't know if they are as well connected, funded or effective as The Make A Wish Foundation, but if they operate in a similar manner, they may be able put people on the task of finding a way to get what you want done and help with the costs as well. You may want to talk to your Doctor about this as some of these things start with a Doctor's recommendation. I hope that you are able to have these experiences.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Italy and France are the only places with the 2 newer species, I hope to catch.
