Location: New Hope MN | Never used them. They look rather risky IMO, but I'll reserve final judgement until i see tensile tests comparing to the stay-lock. |

Stringease stay lock are great very Strong, can be a little hard to change out Baits if your fingers are wet and cold, I’m looking for when I Fish Pike On Great Slave N.W.T. Canada. I change out Baits a lot when fishing in Rapids on the River, I’m looking for New Products that is fast and strong to use. |

Stringease Fastach look better than these to me. These look like a simplified paper clip. In my opinion the easier it is to get baits on and off the more likely it could come off on its own. If I don't need to apply force in a unique way only done by my own fingers, then I don't trust it. I'll stick with staylock even though it hurts my fingers sometimes. |

Location: 31 | I've been making and using my own snaps for years (one on the right). It's basically just a copy of the Sampo with a longer tag end, made out of 360lb test bronze wire that I use until the bronze wears off… “almost” bulletproof. I wonder how these would compare to Stay Lock Stringease? Also, I’d be especially interested in how much the tensile strength drops after using either/or for a few days.
Regarding the “paperclip” - recommend going with what you know rather than experimenting and would be more concerned with the lure coming off than the tensile strength… especially using a twitch or jerk bait.

| split ring to welded ring on metal leader surest method. Also fastest with a bit of practice with properly sized split ring pliers for the spit ring used. Best for cold conditions as well. Zero failures with this method for me and the few of our group that use it. Most in group use snaps/clips/f-carbon and each one that does has had failures of those components. |

Location: Wisconsin | These are what I am using, work great. I've had other snaps fail and lost lures. Plus, added the double loop (the shark guys use those).

Location: 31 | Great to see the stout terminal tackle that can only help to prevent mortality due to equipment failure... it really sucks to have lost the potential fish of a lifetime on several fronts due to the least expensive piece of terminal tackle.
I know because it's happened a few times in my boat with the inferior snaps of yesteryear, and why I began making my own snaps 20+ years ago. I think the split ring attachment is about as solid as you can get, and would probably be using it if I didn't already have a proven track record with my own. Stay-Locs will work, if you stay on top of them, but they are in not in the same league as the ones I make. For most though, I think it would be a solid move to reconsider the split ring deal, and this might work the best for pikemaster too. |

I used them for the Last Month from Musky to Bass to Red Fish and Tarpon, no problems.
I will use them on everything I Fish, except big Rubber.
Saltwater guys swear by them.
