| I was thinking about getting a tranx 300 with the 7.6:1 power handle and replacing that handle with a double paddle handle. My question is, what would change with the specs of the reel, such as gear ratio, drag etc?

| Nothing will change.
But you will find it hard to reel anything with resistance. |

Location: SE Wisc | Paddle handle will make cadence baits easier to manipulate. You don’t need a power handle on a 300. If you wanted to bring in hard pulling lures you should’ve got a 400 |

| The 400 and 300 is the same reel just different spool size, so the 400 wont be any better for hard pulling bait, just got a bit more line capacity, which means that the IPT will be more constant (400 size) throughout the retrieval of the lure. |

Location: SE Wisc | Yeah i meant to say 400 power gear, or 5 gear if you prefer. I shouldn’t assume people know what I mean. I’ve heard there is a difference between the 500 though, tougher anti-reverse? |

| The 500 Is a completely different Beast, and that reel can take a beating :D |

| Did it...on my Dawg rod...for everything big you retrieve steady, I wouldn't recommend it. |

| I also did it on my 300 for small jigs and tiny spinnerbaits, but put the power handle back on. |

Location: Madison, WI | i put the komodo 450 paddles on my 400 AHG and i LOVE it. great for gliders, walk the dogs, topwaters, cranks, rubber. havent tried bigger blades with it but it handles 8's great. highly recommended. |

No alteration necessary, just have to keep everything they goes on the outside of the komodo handle with it. End cap/screw/etc.
