Location: Hartford, WI | I keep getting a "WINDWORD has caused and internal error" message only on some web sites. Then it proceeds to locking up my computer to say that "WAOL has caused and internal error, try restarting your computer if the problem persist". No matter how many times I restart it It locks up, but only on certain sites. Drives me nuts, anyone know how to fix this before, I take the hammer to it.
Thanks,
Jim

Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | I would contact AOL. The WAOL error is usually caused by having more than one instance of an AOL file on your computer. They can help you fix the problem. If you are not running any AOL programs, you shouldn't be getting that error. I usually see it when more than one user on a system is using instant messenger. Do you have teenage girls at home, they can wreak havoc on a computer! |

My best guess is there is a problem with you AOL installation and/or a problem with your Microsoft Office installation. After saving all your pertinent information (email, bookmarks, documents, etc.) try reinstalling both programs. |

Yes, and no matter how many times I tell her to stop downloading different garbage, it never stops.

I get this same problem when I try to use Microsoft Word, or Works.
I also think part of my problem is my computer is so over loaded (See problem Number 1) and I have no idea how to get rid of half of this.

Location: Hartford, WI | Lobi, the problem happens to any service I have. I have tried several others and hated them even worse. WOW was that proper english. lol I am looking now to go to our local service and use a cable, but my computer will never handle it. So I think its time to do what I originally thougt. HAMMER TIME and buy my own computer and let everyone else destroyed the already wrecked one.

They will explain everything step by step. http://forum.pcmech.com/ Also, they will help you build your own computer. It makes it cheaper, and it is as easy as putting together legos. |

Location: Holly, MI | Crap..don't we all hate computers when they are not working just right.
Mine died about a week ago and a friend of a friend came over at 9pm and worked for 3-4 hours on this thing. He had all these disks he was shoving in including an operating system disk. He finally got it running right and would NOT take a dime from me. He saw a couple of musky pictures on the wall and asked me if I would take him musky fishing sometime. Got me off the hook for a repair bill and an extra day musky fishing that my wife couldn't complain about! |

Location: MN | UnInstall MS Office. Do this in your control panel (Add/Remove Programs) . Remove it... Then, re install MS Office.
I do not think it is AOL, but I would cover my basis and do the same thing as with Office.
I second dumping AOL.....Causes too many problems! |
