| I plan on fishing lake Waconia for the first time the first or second week in July. Any info would be great. (lures, colors, depths, etc).

| July is iffy,, chance the water might be too hot best to post a question about temps before you come,,noted area fisheries biologist once predicted a state record might come from here with all the oily sheepshead forage but its not the lake it once was. Trolling Wiley baits fast and with a short line used to be a killer on this lake. | |

| July will likely be tough. I've had my best luck on Waconia in the fall. If it was me, and I didn't have the option to do different lakes, I'd try at night. Also, Tonka isn't very far of a drive. Some of the bigger clearer parts may have more favorable temps. Good luck. | |
