Any experience with Livingston crank baits ... does their EBS technology make a difference?

I have and use them. Cool baits, different with the lights and sound... but similar results as other cranks. Fun stuff and has its place.

i've been interested in,playing with, and working with livingston on this concept for several years . always looking for that"edge" and this is one of the most enlightening with future potential discoveries i've seen. the technology EBS (electronic baitfish sounds) is real. the actual "sounds" are not made up, they are reproductions of actual fleeing baitfish sounds digitally recorded and are even getting to the point of baitfish species specific according to bait style/color.
Major players not only in the recreational and tournament fishing arenas but commercial fishing and even countries/govts. looking to support thier commercial fishing industries are getting very interested and involved. yes even The Deadliest Catch guys are seeing positive results. ha!
i have personally seen many positive reactions and results with the most recognizable reactions having been during bait pauses, hang time when the bait can "talk" to a fish interested and looking at the bait, or when a fish interested in another bait comes in close contact to a livingston that is talking. i've seen increased ,excited body language and even a switching of baits at boatside many times. i personally havnt had any extended test time in very dirty or dark waters or at extreme depths yet but very well these could be advantagous times to give them a try. i know the distance they can be heard or "felt" by fish is much further than one would expect.
i liken the comparison to the difference between Christopher Columbus and the space shuttle. we right now are in the Columbus era of this new technology with exciting possiblities in the travels and exploration ahead of us.
is it an automatic always everyday game changer? no, nothing is in fishing thats what makes it the game it is but it is an exciting and evolving technology and defiantly can prove to be an "edge" at times. personally i think one would have to be very close minded not to at least consider giving them a try especially when thier price point doesnt break the bank like so many of the new baits out there that are nothing more than pretty paint jobs. amazingly we been catching as many/more fish on the clear unpainted proto types as the painted versions.
the internal power source is good for approx 200 hrs of use(activated when contacts wet or in water),the next generation has plans for usb charging.
even if/when "dead" the baits are excellent fish catchers with time proven (and improved/refined) body styles, designs, and actions as well as new designs and many plans moving forward.
and i still cant figure put with all the research, production/molding of the baits, the technology its self, etc etc etc. they can be at the price point they are, much less than many/most baits out there and way,way less than the pretty "designer" baits everyone is pushing now for the "bait addicts".
buyers for retailers are cherry picking bait styles and colors based on sales records so if you see a bait that you cant find just give livingston a call or email they will get it to you.

New Tech we all want to use: side/down imaging,3d sonar, loadable lake maps with everything it took some people a lifetime to learn instantly rt in front of your eyes and all you need is a credit card, etc etc etc. at the end of the day it's not the advancements in equip and technologies its anglers and thier c/r ethics that keeps it together. we better get back on the band wagon and ban the bulldawg oh and the suick again too,to deadly.

dirty dancer ,rt. 2 models , a med size soft tail and a large hard tail. great casting ,trolls best on the slow side with the insane overpowering action 2.5-3.5. look for some new head/tail combos coming later in the season on this bait that brings the trolling speeds to up and over 4.3.
as far as headhunter the small bait 6.5" is meant to and was designed to be a slow sinker,it's what it took for it to stay stabilized at trolling speeds up and over 5+ mph. that small little bait...great early season bait, the gentlemans bait we call it, so effortless . with very limited baits out last spring i personally know of 3 fish 54"+ on it both casting and trolling. the 8's (this awesome size is just out and available) and the bigger 10" both float , have great action casting and also troll and produce at both slower speeds or as fast as you can go without blowing out, i've had them up over 6+ with no indication of even starting to blow out.
just another tool,good luck!!

I like the 6" headhunter, was thinking about getting to 10 but an 8, count me in. I also really like the action of the B-Viper, only tried it once but i like erratic baits and this one suits me well.

todd,
the viper is typically used as a swim, jerkbait and casted. tip..also try it for shallow trolling , long line or short line with tip in the water...watch the rod tip thump. the bait will swing ,swim, and erratically dart, best action for me has been with 1-3 of the weights in the chamber, most taken out. take all the weights out and its a swim /wtd jerk subsurface shallow and also as a diff kind of walk the dog topwater. be patient with it,let it swing and snap/swish from side to side with snaps and pauses, the rubber tail noisily splish's and splash's water all over in a kind of side to side swing with a very shallow dive ,swing, and rise. ya looks kinda like a real injured fish.
