| I'd choose 6.3:1 for all-around. As for choosing between WN and HD, look at the difference in features vs difference in price and decide if it's worth it to you. I've never tried anything with Winn grips so that might be worth seeing in a store before buying online. |

| 6.3:1 is more versatile. That said, after my experiences and those of my friends, I'd look to other reels like the new Tranx 400

Faster is better for ripping rubber. You want to pick up the slack line quickly between rips, and don't need the power since the bait is moved with the rod. That said, anything will work and not everyone can afford to have 4 or 5 different combos to fish everything perfectly. You might not be able to fish it as fast as you want sometimes but it will get the job done. The S60 is great all-around but if you love fishing rubber and do it most of the time I'd look for something faster. |

Location: North Dakota | I'd go with the 400HD 6.3:1 for a good all around reel! I have one--used it all last year crankin' in blades, and it's as good as new! The stainless steel gears are very durable. |

| Id go 7.1 unless you gonna use for big blades....Ive got the 6.3 the 7.1 and the 8.1 have the HDS and the WNS love them all...really like the 8.1 hd to burn but the 7.1 is great all purpose I don't use 6.3 much cause its really not low enough gears for dbl 10s IMO so I use my Revo toro or beast 4.9 for big blades Id go 7.1 Winn personnally |
