| Not a fish record but a 45rpm record that is at least 45 years old! Was wondering if anyone remembers the record "Spunkey the Monkey" on one side + "Jimmy Crack Corn" on the other...I think the record was yellow in color....used to have it as a tyke + the song about the monkey pops up from time to time. I had planned to use it as a question for a contest but it is highly unlikely anyone has heard of it.....if you have please swallow your pride + say so![:sun:] |

| I looked up the word obscure in the dictionary and found
definition 12 to be "any item included in a Sponge Bob contest". |

| Spongy- Jimmy Crack Corn is really "The Blue Tail Fly". Burl Ives did a cut w/ Andrews Sisters on backgound vocals circa 1950. This song has been done a lot. Never heard of Spunkey the Monkey. If on yellow vinyl it was probably put out by Golden Record Label. Here''s another- Blue tail fly- http://tiffent.com/wendi/records/n337b.jpg
"A Little Snake"
Momma says I''m a wild one
And I keep her on her toes
I''m movin'' like a groovin'' little animal
And when I stop, nobody knows
I''ll be a snake and shake and slither to the music
Be a spider and slide your body cross the floor
Be a spunky kinda monkey, climbin'' high up in the branches
A see-you-later alligator, walkin'' out the door
I''m a beast from the deep of the jungle
I''m a creature from the bottom of the sea
I''m a sewer rat, I''m a mountain cat
Why don''t you come, why don''t you come on the prowl with me?
Back"
Spongy = Here''s one for you; What three artist''s sang "Round & Round Hitler''s Grave"?[:0]

| Maniac....was it Spike Jones by any chance? I heard an album by him once about 25 yrs. ago + it cracked me up! Time to go battle the boss + whatever else finds its way into this day![:sun:]
Just hit me how your vast knowledge of off the wall stuff is needed....that''s what makes this board so great...it allows for mental expansion while increasing the learning curve for fishing![:0] |

| Nope!- no banana, or should I say Spam! Did ya know that stuff's a Minnisota delicacy?
It was Burl Ives, Woody Guthrie & Pete Seeger (1944)[:0]
Have fun!

| yep, benny hill and "dumb&dumber" are on my hotlist too! Well, how about that?? Do you like rowan attkinson? I mean not Mr Bean but his part in "Blackadder" and the likes? I just love that really absurd stuff like "the ministry of silly walks" and "fish-slapping dance" by Monty Python. You really have to see that one. Really kills you![] [] [;)] |
