It was another great year for the First WI Chapter Annual Muskie Tournament.
This year's field had 272 anglers. 57 anglers caught 78 Muskies during this two and a half day contest.
Friday was the most productive, action slowed as the colder weather moved in.
Gordon Roytek took top honors this year with three fish out of the Dairyland Flowage - 48.5", 47.5", 37.5" for a total of 55.5 points.
Gordon also took big fish honors with his 48.5" release. For this, he receives a free replica courtesy of Lax Taxidermy and the First WI Chapter of Muskies Inc.
Other big fish for the tournament included a 47.5" from Gordon Roytek, 48" from Greg Hassman, 47" from John Tokarski and 47.5" from Wayne Farmer. Many others in the mid 40" range were caught as well.
First WI would like to thank our sponsors and contestants for supporting this event. This is our chapter's most significant source of revenue and gives us the ability to provide Muskies for stocking into our area waters.
Next year's tournament dates are September 17-19, 2004.
