Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | I hope this picture comes through. This is of the 50" musky taken by Mepps/Mister Twister Regional Sales Manager, Don Lewis. The fish was caught on a Mepps Tandem Musky Killer while fishing the Lakeview Musky Tournament on Pelican Lake in Wisconsin. Needless to say, this put he and his partner in first place by a very large margin.
I wish to congratulate Don not just on his first 50" fish (which it was); not just on his first legal musky (which it was); but I would like to congratulate him on the two previous PLUS the fact that this is Don's FIRST EVER MUSKY CAUGHT!!!!

Not bad for a proclaimed walleye guy, 2 time musky fishing, boats first fish, it measure 50", wins the tournament, and he is acting like he just caught a 15" walleye. It prove that luck sometimes is better than skill, it was truly a great day for Don and Al. I just wish Norm could have caught something bigger that the little 44 he got. Good day for MEPPS 1st and 3rd place.

| Way to go. It also makes my 44.5' (2nd place) look small but a lot bigger than the 44" (Just kidding). There are some brutes still in the "Dead Sea". |

That is one of the darkest colored muskies I think I've ever seen.
Oh...Don, since this is your first ever muskie you might just as well sell all your muskie tackle now as it's downhill from here buddy....LOL First fish is a 50"er...can't wait to see what's next....:)
Mepp's tandems are great....Come to think of it, the whole Mepp's muskie line is great... Rock on boys....

Do you want to know the nice part about it? We know for a fact that it STILL DOES have at least one of the original strain of good old solid gold fish. This fish was released to fight again another day; hopefully for another angler who will appreciate what they really have just caught, just like Don.

PS: It was pretty darn wet in Madison. I did manage to lose a 30" walleye boat side on Saturday and a 40"ish musky on Sunday half way to the boat after 2 tail walks. Not bad for being a judge boat trolling out over 30'-40' of water no where near the guys. Guess what the hot pattern for bluegill was for me? Trolling crankbaits; no kidding. |

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | I'm really looking forward to this weekend and hope that either Mike or I can play netman a couple of times. I get pumped up catching a 44 in a tourney, can't imagine what it would be like boating a 50.
On another note, Troyz has taken musky fishing to another level. Much like a longsnapper in football, he has shied away from the fame and fortune a "quarterback" would get and made himself a niche as a musky specialist. If you are looking for a musky catcher, he might not be your best option. If your looking for a netman, he has had plenty of practice and performs his specialist duties nearly flawlessly every time.  |
