I am looking to get a Tranx 400 AHG. I have never used a power handle before. What do you guys think about the power handle on the Tranx? Can you get the AHG with the double paddle?

Don't be nervous about getting into a power handle. It takes very little time to get used to the feel, and pretty soon you'll wonder why you didn't fish with them before. I don't own a Tranx 400HG, but am also looking into the 400 series. I've handled them in the shop and in my opinion, the handles are build very well-- very comfortable, smooth, and light. If you wanted the double paddle handle, you'd lose a bit of your handle length, and therefore, you'd have to work a bit harder to achieve the same retrieves you'd get out of the power handle. However, the Tranx double paddle handles are much longer than your average double paddle handle, so I'd imagine it'd perform ok. That reel is built to move the bait quickly, so a power handle is just another advantage to the fisherman if speed is ever a factor.
