We are faced with rain and a cool front after three months of stable hot weather with no clouds. What do you think will win the Pmtt at Madison? What will the winning pattern be? Post you choice of pattern and see the results on Sunday. We are faced with a cool front and lots of rain, the water temps are in the low 70's. Wind has been moderate from the south east. Do you thin it will be a trolling bite deep or casting bite shallow? See what you can do with this challenge, post your choice of patterns and see what worked for the PMTT boys.

hehehe, Nice try Extreme One. I told you we should go prefish! Hard to believe you are asking for help in such a sly way! LOL

After spending the afternoon with the Shady dude on Wednesday, I haven't a clue. Well, maybe there was one thing. I think we saw a fish on an obnoxiously noisy bait.

My guess is casting the weed edge and pockets. What a wall those weeds have. Everywhere!

I am betting on baitfish pods holding winning fish in open water or just OFF the weeds, pitching and trolling. But then again, I am nutz.

I fished Madison last year in the PMTT- lot of weeds there. The cold fronts can turn the fish on, or turn them off. If those fish act like do here I bet they will be shallow. Prime example was right here 15 days ago. It has been hotter than hell here then we get some rain and cool temps. all the fish went shallow in bays. Long story short I would fish shallow in the slop. This sudden change might just be the ticket.

I WOULD SLOW ROLL SPINNERBAITS ON THE FRINGE AND GO IN AFTER THEM WITH TWITCHED MINNOWBAITS(SUSPENDING PREFERABLY).I WOULD ALSO FOCUS ON THE SPRINGS WHICH WILL HOLD SLIGHTLY COOLER WATER AND IN TURN ATTRACT THE BAITFISH. MONONA HAS SOME.GOOD LUCK BOYS!HOPE TO JOIN NEXT YEAR! STEVE

This was just a question for for those who would like to guess the winning pattern, I was on Chuck Nelsons lap top Friday night and thought it would be something fun for MuskieFirst.

Shep I had a pattern figured out by Friday afternoon. Spinnerbaits rolled along the weed edges. This produced a fish the first day for me. The second day we worked Suicks and that got me two more fish. We also lost three fish at boatside, any one of those fish would have got us first place. We raised 41 fish during tournament hours. Most of them on Suicks.

The winning pattern was topwater over shallow water, this produced 4 fish for the winners.
