So I have always been a lowrance guy and with everything that I have been seeing with the new humminbirds it has kind of made me want to switch and try the side imaging that they offer. In your opinion for guys that have used both the regular si and the mega is it worth the extra money?

I haven’t used either but saw a talk with a well known MN guide who said the mega is worth the money. He showed the most amazing screenshots... you could see the fish. It was not a hook but like full silhouette.

The non-Mega SI combo uses SI to create a DI picture. It is not a dedicated DI. The new Mega SI has both dedicated SI and DI crystals so the DI is much improved. I have a Helix 7, 999ciHD and a Helix 10 Mega (all with SI) and the differences between them is dramatic. Mega, although expensive, is well worth it.
