| So i have a LT SlingBlade which is one of my favorite rods, that i use all year round, and i considered upgrading it next year to the 2018 model with the slimmer reel seat, but then i thought why not get the LE instead.
I noticed on the st croix webpage they upped the Sling blades lure rating to 3-8 oz vs the 2-6 before, i don't suppose they actually changes the blank of the rod.
Other than the 1.6 oz weight difference in rod weight the specs are the same.
Can anyone who used both give me some in-tell on how the action compares casting different lures or other nice inputs?

Location: Not where I want to be! | This may or may not help you but... I found that after using the LT Long Ranger and then using the LE version of the Long Ranger, the LE is a bit stiffer, but not to the point of being a slingblade. |

To summarize an earlier post we had about the LE line,
the LEM86HF is a bit stiffer than the sling blade, a bit lighter than the big nasty.

| they did the same for the big nasty, before palming grip it was rated 2-6 now 3-8 and i asked no blank change,they where underrated weight wise i think .

danlaboucane, I actually was quoting from what Flambeauski had posted to me. I don't have an LE, I was hoping to buy one and was seeking advise myself before making such a high dollar purchase. If you post or PM him, I'm certain he will be able to answer that. |

| Thanks for the inputs, ive only had the change to handle the LE rods in a store for 5 minutes about a year ago, and i thought it felt a bit stiffer than my Sling blade as well, thanks for the confirmation. |

Location: Western U.P. | The biggest differences between the Musky versions of the Legend Tournament rods & Legend Elite rods (besides the LE's being lighter weight) is their action. The LE's are a stiffer blank with a faster action, and the LT's have a slightly more moderate action (more of the rod blank bends under load, compared to the faster tip action & less rod bend of the LE's). The LE's are made with a better graphite blend. I've built & use both, but tend to lean towards the LT's because of their more moderate action where the rod loads deeper. Since they are both really good blanks, it would pretty much come down to a personal preference of rod action, weight, feel, or even color. I do like that LE green though. Cheers. |

| personally i'd do a custom over upgrading to LEM. Can't speak for the sling blade, but I do run my big nasty and the LEM equivalent next to each other often. LEM definitely gets the most use, but it's definitely not THAT much better than the Big Nasty. I wouldn't pay MSRP for it (I got it 50% off).
If you're dead set on it though, the series is incredible when paired with a Tranx 400 |

| if i lived in the us near a builder it would be an easy decision ! but here in the great white north nowhere near any builder and with the can$ + shipping 9 feet rod+customs fees +taxes = 50 %+ to double the price of a st-croix from a dealer ! the only thing that has stopped me is the palming handle from the big dawg that i sold after trying to live with but i can't . so next is trying the new palming trigger from the legend elite they put on 2018 big nasty . |
