| This is a reminder that I'll be hosting a small get together at my favorite local waters near Iron Mountian, MI. Dates are Thursday October 2 through Monday October 6. Rustic camping, but there's a outhouse on the lake.
Larger boats are discouraged due to the timber. A 14' alum is about perfect, especially one with a powerful trolling motor. I've seen guys with Rangers out there, but they usually leave after an hour or so of getting caught on and between deadheads.
These small lakes can offer up lots of action. I've boated 5 fish in the last 6 trips. In October we'll probabaly have the lakes to ourselves 'cause most locals will be sitting up in trees watching for a deer to amble by.
THIS IS A FREE OUTING, YOU DON"T EVEN HAVE TO PAY FOR CAMPING.
See the outings page for more info. |

| Hi Ranger,
Got the weekend blocked off. In case of inclement weather should we retreat to a small hotel? If we end up at the Fox home, I want dibs on the Rainbow Room, gotta love the 70's wallpaper.
I plan to bring my little tiny boat, but will need you to back it down the hill for me. Unless of course we decide to hit Mine Pond #2 instead of 3.
I'm heading to Waupaca Friday, will get in touch after Cass outing.
Later,
Papa |

| Inclement weather?! Inclement weather?! Turds to inclement weather!!
Plenty of motels in Iron Mountain, or you can stay at my house for free, but I plan to stay at the lakes almost no matter what. I'm pretty geared up for about anything early October has to offer, and I'll share what I have. For example, I have a tent that's 10'X20' with 3 rooms. Center room for changing clothes, the two rooms to either side are available for 2 folks who need a place to sleep. I can set that up if need be. For sure I'll have large tarps set up for shade and shelter, too, a place to get out of the rain, cook, etc.
Should I try to get a generator and TV for football?
PK - I got you covered, bud. Watch for an e-mail. |

| I just might have to try to switch my workday on this one. Not only is it one of the prettiest places to fish but it sounds like a good group may be going. If I can swing it I may only be able to do Sat and Sun. I will let you know. My rig is perfect for this water too...PK you want the front? |

| Reasonably safe gunplay is permitted on this state land. Shooting wolves or other critters is discouraged, however. |

| View the picture under my name to see Fish On cooking steaks at Lake Y last summer. The water in the background is fairly typical, you can see only half the timber, the other half is broken off just below the water surface. He and I camped for 3 days on a small island, what a blast. |
