Terrible news. My condolences to his family and friends. You just never know about life. One minute you're fine, and the next...you can be gone. Life is fragile.

Tight lines Bruce. I never met him but Jerry has told me all about how great a guy he was. RIP sir.

For those of you that did not know Bruce, he was one of those rare but wonderful people that you would instantly like and want to be around.  I met Bruce in the 80s and remember being so impressed that he had already been to the pristine waters of Lake Rowan.  He was a true muskie pioneer with a passion to explore… you name it and Bruce probably fished it.

It seemed every year Bruce had some new place he wanted to try, and I was more than happy to be his tag along, together we traveled tens of thousands of miles in that pursuit. Bruce had a firm handshake, quick smile, and a sincere laugh will be sorely missed by many. It was my privilege to be his friend.

Anyone that was lucky enough to call Bruce a friend knows what a great man he was. Bruce was a friend and more importanly a mentor. For the better part of ten years he taught me how to be a good guide. Bruce was always kind and never boastful. His ten biggest muskies I'm sure rival anyones but it took years for him to talk about them... He was loyal and Trustworthy. I will greatly miss seeing his smile and worn out DU jacket with matching duffle bag. Bruce was the Best! Rest in peace. Luke

Bruce was a great guy, always friendly and laughed at my buffoonery while up in front of the club introducing guests. A good humble man. The second one we have lost in our club this year due to tragedy. Bruce will be missed.

Bruce told me about how after bumping along “that” gravel road, and then navigating “that” glorified creek to get to one of those secret places for the first time you asked someone about muskie fishing there. Their reply; you probably need to talk to Bruce Wisner…  I would have loved to have seen your reaction when you heard his name.

He was my orthodontist and shared the building he operated out of for years with my uncle the dentist and building owner. Knew him since I was a young boy going to the dentist and stopping in to see him every visit. Wonderful man rest in peace.

A great man that I was lucky to meet, know and share stories with on occasion. Told me he was watching me once a day when the satellite flew over and he knew all my spots. Hahaha!!! Taught me how to make the "Wisner snap" as I call it that I made for many years. A truely special person. Will miss seeing him for sure but will always have a Wisner snap nearby.

Hi everyone, this is Bruce's daughter, Christine. You all have me in tears. Thank you for sharing the pictures. I have saved everyone of them. I fished with my dad since I was a kid and he passed his obsession onto me. What some of you don't know is that I have MS and I have difficulty walking, yet he took me out and took care of me!! I know it broke his heart to watch me struggle, but HE is the reason I was still able to get on the water. In the last few years, we spent more and more time together in the boat. He had more fun watching me and/or his grandsons catch fish than he did catching his own! Herbie, he and I were already planning our next trip to Andy Myers Lodge to fish with you again next year. I am lost without him. Thank you for sharing your stories. He was exactly the man you knew...kind, gentle, funny, sarcastic and smart. The world is a little less classy without him.
Christine
(BTW - Muskiewiz was his name. I took it in his honer)

Thanks Herbie. The time he and I spent together at Andy Myers in August was out last time in the boat together. We had already planned another trip next year. I will never forget the great day we all spent together. Thank you for giving me another great memory to keep forever. I am still suffering a broken heart.
Christine.
