Ok, looking for some help to find a nice cold weather fleece ( not that I have not looked around ) to wear as a layer under my shell. I have lost 35 - 40 pounds, and I am cold all the time especially in the sleeves. I am looking for something to keep me warm fishing late in the year that I can also wear during winter.
What are you guys who ice fish or fish late in the year using for a heavyweight fleece layer ?
Tried Refrigiwear ( sleeves were terrible, and few tall options, otherwise I thought this was the ticket ), Frabill is not warm based on previous experience, Cabela's no longer carries its heavyweight windblocking fleece. Simms runs too small.
I am open to suggestions. Thanks.

Location: Hayward, WI | I haven't tried it yet but check out some of the Duluth Trading Fleece. I think one is a shoreman's fleece and don't recall the name of the other. One is wind proof and the other water resistant. Everything I've tried from them is pretty good quality. |

Location: Twin Cities, MN | Thanks, sorry, forgot to add I have a Duluth fleece right now, and the shoreman's is only good to about 35 degrees for me. I have not tried the heavier one yet.
Will give Pategonia a look. There is no place to try them on though, which is my preference.

Location: Contrarian Island | personally I have never been a fan of fleece, when I'm out this time of year I go with layers. Under Armor base layer turtle neck, long sleeve thermal type shirt and then this North Face half zip., then my insulated guide wear jacket. this north face pullover is wind proof and surprisingly keeps me quite warm. I'd opt for layers versus looking for a fleece to fit the bill...

| patagonia has some good stuff. they're my favorite baselayers and sun shirts.
patagonia capilene midweight shirt & long underwear
northface light fleece
north face apex bionic
patagonia sunscarf
heavy beanie
and with that I routinely go to 20*F.
If things are windy or rainy, or im sedentary I'll throw another layer or two over |

Location: SE Wisc | Almost forgot to add a Buff for around your neck! I wear that thing all year and definitely adds a lot of warmth by preventing heat loss through the neck of your jacket |

| Just got a great fleece jacket with a nice liner at Walmart. Surprising cheap and effective. Also it's nice to try it on prior to purchase. |

| big fan of patagonia but layers are key. you can have the nicest clothes in the world but if they are not worn correctly then they wont be much better than the average stuff. Wearing a buff is a great point. If there is any loose places in your outfit try to plug them. |
