| Its late October and its a good crispy morning around 25 degrees on the shores Leech lake. You putting your rig in at the Walker bay landing. Water temps are in the mid 40's, wind today will be calm, with overcast skys. Rain is in the forcast for late afternoon with winds building up as the day goes on from the west.
So what is the pattern and presentation for you on a day like this. |

| Are we trying to catch fish, or fish the way we like? If my life depended on catching a fish I would probably troll large cranks. |
| |
| I would troll for suspended fish out over open water, using 10" Jakes,Slammer Deep Diver,Legend Perchbaits and Depthraiders at a speed below 3.0 mph,one crankbait 5 feet down and the other 15 ft. down.Rain is bringing a fall in barometric pressure and fish and baitfish will rise toward the surface, because of that and the cooler water temprature near the surface. |

| Come on folks.. this might be next weekend. What would you do Saturday morning if this happens. |
| |
| I would either...
a. stay in my warm house and sit on my butt
b. troll the entire lake a few times both with deep lures that will go way down and shallower (like a jake, magnum, ect) for suspeneded fish. |
