never seen an organized mapping party just an unorganized party. I'll mark your map for what it's worth.

Location: NW Iowa | I'll be heading to Spring Bay in an hour. I gave Louie and James a 3 day head start to catch fish and as of last night there were some follows, 1 hit and no fish boated. That will likely change once I get there as they tend to count on me for my "leadership and guideance". See you there around 4pm boys! |

Location: NW Iowa | I'm looking forward to new people in camp as Louie(Bobbie) and James went to bed early! Louie raised a fish tonight and I lost one so things are looking up. James has been ready with the net but hasn't had any work to do at this point :). Tomorrow the event officially starts. I'm thinking campfire about 7:30ish(let the stories fly) |

Location: NW Iowa | Louie raised a low 40's and James botched a hookset this morning so still no fish boated. It's looking like it's time to pull out my secret weapon and show these 2 how to catch fish...lol. On a positive note Louie did listen to me on where to fish:) |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Crazy winds today, but everyone hit the water and some moved fish. There was some action for those who lasted out there, but it was not pleasant most of the day. Keith and I have a couple crappie shoots to do while up here, and got after it today in the big winds. The crappies were somewhat cooperative, but windows were shorter than average and they fish were pretty particular.
Eric went out with Steve today and boated a 52 and a 45, heck of a good start to the trip!
The fire last night was stellar all the way, and lasted until 11:30 or so. Spring Bay fed us as we arrived last night, and had everyone's lodging set and ready. Despite the weather, it was a great day one for the Spring Bay Resort Fall Outing!

Location: NW Iowa | Ditto on what Louie said about Spring Bay Resort! It's top notch and a great family run resort! The fish did not cooperate this week for us as they seemed to have lockjaw and not reports of many follows around camp. That's Musky fishing sometimes and just how it goes. Raised a few fish today so hopefully those here next week have better luck.
Now to the important "stuff". 2 of my bunkmates that left early missed out on Brian trying to shoot a duck with his finger this morning...lol, He missed as he only put 1 shell in the chamber. Better luck next year buddy! So yes that was our excitement for the day:) Oh and he put his boat in the rocks like Louie does at times:)
Looking forward to everyone meeting for dinner tonight and looking forward to next years event! Thank you Amundson family for all that you do for us!

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Saturday evening dinner and awards ceremony at The Landing was a blast, and the food and drink excellent. Everyone in attendance left with a new Suick lure or one of some other pretty cool prizes. Thanks again to all who attended the Fall Outing, and stand by for some news regarding both outings next year out of Spring Bay resort!
Louie, I am wondering if you will ever see that rod.......

| It was really great meeting the handful of you throughout the week. Taking Steve out for that guide trip really paid off. I'd highly suggest taking him out to anyone! I have a feeling the Smoker Craft might have to visit that water again in the future. We raised an absolute pig Saturday night that would've made my 52 blush.
Big thanks to Louie (bobbie) and James for helping us out and marking up our map for us. It certainly helped us a ton. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Actually, the crappie bite was a bit off too, we put about 65 in the boat in two days of shooting video and stills for clients (I really don't care if anyone 'approves' of multi-species fishing, we were working....and the crappies we kept made a couple stellar dinners. We would have fished them some anyhow, have to be nuts to ignore a possible 17" plus silver plate), and didn't boat any truly big fish (over 15) this trip. The 3 fronts in 3 days and warmer water leading up to the trip didn't help I think. Keith and I pounded the muskie water hard Saturday, and moved 6. One was a tanker, and she took a couple looks for us. The muskies were tough to convert for us but most certainly showed themselves. Wish we were still there.
And there were three caught. That's Vermilion, one week it's hot and another not so much. One thing for sure, every cast could be the ONE..... |

| Hey Tonts, if you don't end up on the rocks as some point, you're just not trying! Those lures ain't cheap you know. Had a great time as always. Great hosts, great accommodations, great group of guys. Only thing to make it better would be some biters. Just watch out for those kamikaze ducks! |
