Has anyone fished Little Boy Lake in Sept. If so how was it? Also thinking of fishing Leech Lake any suggestions on where to stay or areas to fish. Looking for a place to stay that is reasonable(cheap). I will have a walleye fisherman along so which lake is the best of both?

I just found this forum and it is way past September but I have fished both Little Boy (and Wabedo) and Leech for muskys and the both can be great depending on the year. Both are also excellent for walleyes. I assume you have your own boat so you could travel to hot lakes in the area but for places to stay you can look under the Longville chamber of commerce for on Little Boy, and there are so many places to stay on Leech it's rediculous.I would have thought this year would be great on Leech because i was on there in the beginning of August during the dog days and it was a little slow feeling like it might be one hot september. I see you are from cedar rapids as I am a U of Iowa student from the Chicago area and my best friends has a cabin on Little Boy and there are some pigs in there.... Interested to hear if you ended up going. Best of luck

Go to Leech!! Nuff Said!!!
Leech can be absolutely incredible if you can get in on the REED bite. Try the reeds in Portage bay or the ones by Pelican island. Little Boy and Wabedo are small lakes that receive a TON of pressure. The pressure on Leech dies off after Labor day. BIG water equals MORE opportunities for BIG fish!!
