| Wanted to share my soft plastic progress with fellow musky diehards.
I have been on a year long mission to design a line of soft plastics that I am happy with.
There are so many variables in designing baits - tail thickness, plastic softness, internal harness balancing... I have been obsessed with this mission.
The top one is a mash up of the royal orba and reg sized helidawg.
The otherbaits are paddletail variations from slow super soft late Fall patterns, shallow or deep versions... with softener added they can be sauntered along deep or shallow and walked left and right slightly. The firmer version of the fireperch wanders at faster speeds and can be walked side to side with reel crank pulses.
For now I am out of plastic but I will be making harnesses all Fall and pouring up another 75-100 in the New Year. Will be posting a YouTube video of their action sometime soon. YouTube - Landry Smith.

| Thanks guys. Really appreciate the kind words.
I love the walleye bait too. The bright gold cheek really flashes on the figure eight.
I use lurecraft plastisol and paint them with Lureworks SBCoat, while wearing a few hair supply mask as its nasty stuff.
Paddletails are about 9".
I have hardly fished this year as I have been consumed with designing these baits.
I also made a 3/4 pound knockoff bulldawg but would never sell those as it just feels wrong.
Over the winter I am gonna make a mag sized bversion of the Dawg/royal orba mashup which I call the Wild Thing. |

| the last one can be used instead of a bondy bait i guess? it look very nice,nice enough to make me try that jigging technique for the first time.as soon as you have the time i'll buy a fireperch or the sucker gold next to the fireperch.so you can put me on the loooooooooooooooong waiting list |

| i don't know if it's because paddle don't move a lot of water vs bucktails or cranks of similar size but i've caught more fish on the big one. |

| Thanks guys.
I am spending the Fall making the internal harnesses in bulk and will be pouring in the New Year.
Not sure about doing a 13-15" paddletail yet but it's a possibility.
I will add you guys to a new list I have started and contact u in the New Year.

On the topic of large paddletails for the guys looking for one, Jeff Boggs (Boggs Tackle) makes a 15" that he pours and paints himself, nice belly roll too. So if you want one, get in touch with him. Excellent quality bait and a great guy to deal with. Just trying to help out, not detract from the baits or maker in the post. If Landry makes a 15", get one of those too! |

| Boggs' work is impressive. He is a genius and has helped me with advice too.
Not sure I am gonna make a big paddletail this year. If I did mine would be different than the swimmin dawg or Boggs' bait as my design Has a more gradually sloping tail section which tends to promote a kick that extends up the body more. They all have their place and I like how unique similar looking paddletails can be. |
