Looking to buy a new reel for throwing large rubber. What Ratio would you go with?
I have an Idea but I would like input from more seasoned anglers in this area.
Too Old to throw Pounders. So Mag is my max
I know this has probably been asked many many times.
But I would Greatly appreciate your Input!!
Thanks..

I would go with a higher ratio if possible. The diawa saltist brings in a lot of ipt at a low price. the

Hight ratio if your gonna use it like a jerkbait, low ratio if your gonna strait retrive it like a swimbait

High ratio is best ... keeping the line tight between pulls is crucial ... the high speed reels makes it easier to pick up the slack line

For rubber I like my 500 Tranx HG picks up line very fast .when pulling and ripping I never have slack line. High speed is what you want. Rubber reels in very easy dont need power need a reel to pick up line fast.

High gear for any style of retrieve, jerk bait = reeling up slack line, straight retrieve is still easy with this type of lure with no resistance, allows you to keep up with a charging fish easier and less turns of the handle throughout the day
