guys I recently just purchased a new optima Blue Top D31M, I have a Battery Tender Plus 1.25 amp 12 volt charger and maintainer just wondering if that will work for the new optima or should I buy a different charger? My boat only has a 2 bank charger and I use that for the 2 trolling motor batts. |

Location: SWEDEN | Its recomended to have a charger that can deliver 10% of the size of the battery .
If you have a battery that is 50Ah then you should have a charger that can deliver 5amp , if you have a charger that is to week it wont manage to charge the battery fully .
I have this problem with my 3,5 amp charger for a 80Ah battery , it dosent matter if i charge the battery for 1 week , but when it put it in the boat and can get more amps from the motor then i get it full .

No body uses optima blue top group 31's?
I have them in my Ranger hooked up to a 3 bank charger. Love the batteries (you will too) just cant speak to your question about charges...that's a bit above my pay grade.  |
