I'm headed down to visit relatives over Christmas. I was down there when I was quite a bit younger and we did a charter out into international waters and caught some shark and some rock fish, but I am wondering if anyone else has been to the area around that time and has done any other hunting/fishing.

Hog hunting would be my suggestion. If your driving and depending on where from, i have a buddy in east texas who does thermal hunts $100/guy. And he will put you on pigs

Duck hunting is great down there. My buddy lives in the area and I flew down and freelanced with him around the coast. Plummed out reds, pinnners, widgeon, bwt, bluebills, molteds, gads, buffies and a chance at a cinnamon or fluvuos. Not hard to freelance if you can bring gear and a small boat. If not there's plenty of guides. Most of the guides I saw down there seemed like amateurs and just go out to get you on your two reds which is a piece cake down there. I could ask my buddy for reputable guides. Pm if interested in more info.
