| All of the northern dudes seem to hate pike .... Maybe its because we don't have pike down this way but I'd be overjoyed to catch fish like that on a semi-regular basis lol |

No kidding half the people on this forum can never give a compliment without questioning size or critiquing something. |

| That is Jason Hamernick. I'm just guessing, but I don't think he really needs to or cares to try to make a fish look bigger than it is. |

This. I second the 'really?' part of all the critical commentary....take my word for it life is too short. |

| Awesome fish!!! I would be MORE than happy to catch Pike like that. I have zero problem with catching Pike. I enjoy catching them as well.
It's threads and comments from others, like this, that prevent a lot of people from even bothering to take the time to post photos of fish they've caught. It's threads and comments from others, like this, that send people away from great web sites like this. It's gotten very old, over the years, weeding through the threads full of nay-sayers and people overly critiquing and overly discounting people's catches.
Steve is right....life is way too short for the B.S.

Catching a 45 inchish Pike almost always fights harder than a comparable sized Muskie....Just saying. |

I'm pretty sure they are rain pants. Unless they added a denim cuff for style points. |

| I've been noticing Jason and a few others have been sticking some nice mid 40 class pike out there this year. European caliber? No, but not sure where in Canada the fish are so consistently big that a fat 45"er wouldn't get some love. |

I got no problem with this. Better too close than too far away. I have a picture of me hold my PB smallie. It was a 5 pounder but looks like a 2 pounder because the camera was too far away!! UGH! |

That only reason I found the site was out fishing and saw MUSKIEFIRST.COM across back of truck so that how Mine WAS!!! |

| I agree with gregk9. I don't think that a camera does a big fish enough justice if not taken right. The star of the picture is the fish! Nice pike |

Regarding this picture. It looks big to me. Maybe not 40 pound euro big but I don't think thats as common as some of us think. I caught a 41 incher on lotw last week but it was a stick with a big head. This fish has some nice girth. Looks picture worthy to me!
And I'd rather get a good picture than catch a big fish only to have it look small in the pic after the fact.
